The Communication and Development Committee is chaired by Mr. MA Yung Kit.  The  Committee is responsible for developing BXAI’s communication strategy through media channels and public relations as well as ongoing fundraising initiatives.

Chairman, Lee Heng Diamond Company Limited

Mr. MA Yung Kit is Chairman of Lee Heng Diamond Group, a family business in diamond and jewelry.  He is also the co-founder of Cocoon, a coworking platform where entrepreneurs, creative talent, successful leaders and investors meet, collaborate and deliver results together.  He is a native Hong Kong-Chinese, educated in Switzerland and the United States.  Mr. Ma currently serves as a Council Member and Chairman of Institution Advancement and Outreach Committee of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.  His public services since 1978 include work with various government commissions and committees, charity and non-governmental organizations.

Ms. Angela CHEUNG

Managing Director, APV

Ms. Angela Cheung is Managing Director of APV, one of Asia’s most established creative agencies.  Her role encompasses video direction, scriptwriting, digital video strategy, video marketing, and branding for prominent clients that include Morgan Stanley, Cathay Pacific, Alibaba, FedEx, and BBC, to name a few.  She is also a sought-after coach and speaker on various topics such as presentation skills, creativity, video production, content strategy, SEO and digital marketing, and management.

Ms. Cheung was formerly Regional Director of Broadcast Marketing at Hong Kong Disneyland, where she helped increase public opinion and interest in the theme park through the use of original content.  Prior to that, she was Regional Director of Production at Walt Disney Television Asia Pacific, managing Disney’s original content and production strategy throughout Asia.  Ms. Cheung also led content teams at FremantleMedia Asia, Channel V and MTV.

Ms. Helen Y. Chen

Head of Communications & External Affairs, School of Business and Management, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)

Ms. Helen Y. CHEN is Head of Communications & External Affairs for the School of Business and Management at the HKUST Business School, and is responsible for formulating strategies to strengthen the School’s presence and connectivity externally, positioning it for the next stage of growth in the Greater Bay Area and the world.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Chen was the Head of Strategic Development at Asia Society Hong Kong Center, overseeing external partnerships and fundraising. She previously worked for over 18 years in the financial industry, and has also spent time within the field of higher education at Hitotsubashi University ICS and the HKUST Business School.

Her current community engagements include serving as Senior Advisor of the Columbia University Alumni Association Hong Kong, First Vice President of Zonta Club of Victoria, and Director of the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council.

Ms. Laura COZIJNSEN

Founder, Lighthouse Consultant Limited

Ms. Laura COZIJNSEN is the Founder of award-winning marketing and public relations consultancy, Lighthouse Consultant Limited.  She is of Eurasian descent, born in Malaysia, and educated in Hong Kong.  Ms. Cozijnsen has held directorship positions with media conglomerate STAR Group Limited, responsible for marketing and publicity of TV channels across Southeast Asia.  As the 2006 Overall Champion at the Hong Kong Master of Ceremonies Competition, she has since hosted over 700 events and is a highly sought-after trainer for both the private and public sector.  She is currently Programme Mentor for the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and is engaged in a wide range of community services, with a particular focus on entrepreneurship and youth development.
