We invite you to join us in our efforts to raise up a new generation of leaders in Asia and build bridges across cultures.

The BXAI Summer Program is an important component of the Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program (AFLSP).  Designed to extend learning beyond the classroom, the three-week program brings our current AFLSP Scholars together in one location and provides them with a unique opportunity to explore important topics, build community, and foster 21st-century skills in an immersive and engaging setting.  Through exchanges with influential global leaders, panel presentations, debates, and skill-building workshops, scholars are able to broaden their perspectives and develop a greater understanding of important issues that relate to Asia and its role in the changing global landscape.

Since its inception, over 300 scholars have benefited from the Summer Program.  As a result, lifelong friend ships have been forged and many cross-cultural partnerships have been formed.

“The 2017 Summer Program offered a varied curriculum that included social activities, many workshops and panels, and a final presentation.  AFLSP scholars not only had the chance to meet fellow scholars hailing from different countries and backgrounds, but also to explore and strengthen their own identity.  I am sure that these valuable experiences have encouraged them to form many lasting friendships.”

Professor UCHIDA Katsuichi

President of BXAI

“I left Japan for China five years ago to try and understand the social issues faced by the Chinese.  Through the BXAI Summer Program, we met many Japanese leaders and experts, and learned about their struggles to solve different social problems in Japan.  I hope to have an opportunity to work with them as a Japanese living abroad.”

“I think solidarity is what we’re seeking, but we’re not going to eliminate differences.  I envision a heterogeneous community in which not everyone acts the same, but everyone considers each other’s feelings.”
