We are honoured to welcome Professor Wei Shyy to the BXAI Advisory Council. He will be the first member to transition directly from the BXAI Governing Board. Since joining the Governing Board in 2023, Professor Shyy has shown exceptional commitment to BXAI. He possesses deep insights into the organisation’s mission, vision, and strategic direction. His active participation at board meetings has been invaluable to the growth and development of the Bai Xian Community.
Professor Shyy is the Former President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), having led the university from 2018 to 2022. He is also a Professor Emeritus and former Chair Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. A world-renowned scholar with extensive research in aerodynamics and computational modelling techniques, he has served on multiple national and international committees providing review and advisory support for both private and public sector initiatives, with particular focus on higher education.
We look forward to collaborating with him in his new consultative role on the Advisory Council. Together, we will continue to advance our shared mission: nurturing future Asian leaders, fostering peace and regional collaboration through the Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program.
